Mount Assiniboine

We just came back from Mount Assiniboine, 5 days of hiking in a breathtaking scenery, right in our backyard. Accessible by foot or helicopter flight, you will feel far from everything. You can choose to stay in the beautiful Assiniboine Lodge, the more rustic Naiset Huts (though, very comfortable and offering a cooking area) or camping.
Mount Assiniboine is open in the summer and the winter.

Canmore Studio and Gallery Tour - this coming week end

Twenty professional artists and gallerists will open their spaces to the general public featuring live demonstrations and presentations in painting, multi-media, photography, sculpture, jewellery, pottery and glass blowing. Self-guided tour maps will be available at artsPlace, on the shuttle bus, and at all participating locations.

Fruit Tree Removal Program

The presence of fruit trees in residential areas of Canmore is an attractant for bears.
This results in potential public safety concerns, property damage and concern for the well-being of the bears.
In an effort to reduce human-wildlife interactions, the Town is running a voluntary fruit tree removal program this Fall.
If you have a crabapple tree in your yard, you can have the tree removed at no cost to you by a certified arborist this September.
You can also have the tree replaced with a non-fruit bearing tree from an approved list.

Elevation Place Pool Annual Shutdown

The Aquatics Centre at Elevation Place will be closed from September 6-24 2016 for the annual maintenance shutdown.
